A Note From Susana

Dear Reader:

This newsletter focuses on the importance of being prepared for life’s unexpected emergencies. It addresses the challenges faced by a surviving spouse after the sudden death of a husband or wife when no plan is in place, as well as parents confronted with an unforeseen crisis involving a child.

Unfortunately, we regularly meet with widows, widowers, and families who arrive at our office overwhelmed, grieving, and unsure of what to do next because no advance planning was done.

We also work with many individuals in their 80s who never anticipated the need for long-term care. They often find themselves facing the difficult reality of one or both spouses requiring care while also experiencing declining capacity. At that stage, age and health concerns can significantly limit planning opportunities.

The good news is that planning ahead provides far more options. When done early thoughtful planning can help protect you, your spouse, and your family from many of the financial and legal challenges associated with long-term care, disability or death.

Whether you are facing an unexpected emergency, coping with the sudden loss of a loved one, or planning for the possibility of long-term care, we are here to help you develop a plan that provides guidance, protection, and peace of mind.
